  • The Texas Longhorns Football Team

    This football team represents the University of Texas at the games of the NCAA FBS. The team belongs to the Big 12 Conference currently but over the course of its career has been a member of various other conferences as well as having been an independent team. The total number of conference wins it has garnered is 32. A good 129 of their members have been named All-American players. Twice the Heisman Trophy was received by a player. Nineteen of their men have been admitted into Halls of Fame. The College Football Hall of Fame enshrined 15 while the NFL Hall of Fame accepted 4.

  • The Iowa Hawkeyes History

    Football in the City of Iowa started out as a club sport in 1872. It eventually developed into an intercollegiate game in 1882. After six years, the first officially recognized football team of the University of Iowa was born. The original team was invited to play in the Western Football Conference on account of the prowess of its team members. This is also called the Big Ten Conference. After one year the performance of the team was outstanding and they were made to share in the Western Conference title.

  • Prado’s Injury Is Significant

    No one player makes a team, but Martin Prado’s recent hand injury may have a significant effect as The Atlanta Braves progress toward the National League East division title. His injury happened Friday night in Cincinnati during the 10th inning of a 6-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds. His disabled list status will last until August 16.

  • The University of Mississippi is referred to affectionately as ‘Ole Miss’ in that state. It really stands for, as you may have guessed, ‘Old Mississippi.’ The Ole Miss Rebels are the flag team of the university in the NCAA Division I-A FBS. The team is currently member of the Southeastern Conference.

  • The Ole Miss Rebels started their trek towards this years conference football games when fall camp opened on Sunday, August 8 at 5:25 pm. For starters the team will be warming up on their basic routines before they don their full gear on Thursday, August 12. The camp activities are open to outsiders who can watch from a distance. There are new developments in the team.

  • The absence of Brandon Wegher

    Sophomore running back Brandon Wegher who played in 12 games of the 2009 football season has been absent from the training and practice sessions at fall camp 2010. He holds the Iowa freshman record for rushing touchdowns, scoring eight in all. He is third in that same group for his total of 641 rushing yards and in fourth place for his 967 all-purpose yards. In the records of the Big Ten he copped no 8 for scoring (4-0) and no. 10 for yards rushed (53.4). Wegher was also one of the three freshmen to see action during the 2009 season.
