Despite not winning a playoff game since Troy Aikman was quarterback, the Dallas Cowboys still manage to steal the spotlight in some way or another. The Dallas Cowboys moved into their coliseum for the start of the 09′ season.
With a larger “space ship like” stadium and a party atmosphere comes high expectations for the actual team. Jerry Jones isn’t shy about spending money – hopefully the Cowboys on field achievements can equal that of the new stadium.
A plasma television above the field was bigger than any high definition unit in the history of the world. The picture looked crystal clear, just as clear as the plasma TV set I watched the game on. Too bad it may interfere with punks and kickoffs at times. Not sure who planned that?
The running game of the Cowboys is fantastic, they are averaging around 200 yards per game. If they can keep averaging 200 yards per game remains to be seen – a valuable running game is a quarterback’s best friend.
While America’s Team hasn’t won a playoff game since 1996 – fans and owner Jerry Jones feel as if the Cowboys are a contender every single season despite their flaws – why wouldn’t they think that?
The Cowboys play in the very difficult NFC East with the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles – playing these teams twice a year will show how worthy the Cowboys are to contend in the NFC.
While the Cowboys stadium is nice and quite the spectacle, a nice stadium won’t help a team win games – the Cowboys must do that themselves.
As long as Tony Romo can keep it together, the Dallas Cowboys can compete with any team in the NFL.
