When someone decides to start a home business, they are more than likely talking about starting their own Web site. There are so many options available that just about anyone can be successful if they make the right decisions as they are putting everything together. Choosing the right hosting company is one of the first decisions that they can make, but unfortunately it is often also their biggest mistake.
The search for the right hosting company is not exactly as easy as it seems. A Google search will pull up well over 40,000,000 Web sites of one sort or another that are trying to sell Web hosting services. Now the decision starts to get a little tougher. Well we are about to make it very easy for you.
Go Daddy – while they may arguably be the biggest and most popular, they are more about advertising and fluff than they are about quality. If their customer service was as good as their commercials, everyone else would be out of business. Before checking out your shopping cart, be very careful about the fees that will be piling up.
They are a perfect example of a bait and switch company. They will push $1.99 domains when they advertise, but they are not .com addresses and .xxx is pretty much worthless. They also offer low priced hosting plans, but there is nothing included that will actually help the owner succeed. If you want a quick sample, try and check out and get obliterated by all the up-sells that they push on you. We are going to pass on this one.
Blue Host – Before there was GoDaddy, there was BlueHost. While they are better than GoDaddy, there is still little in the way of support and they are not cheap. The more services that are added, the higher the price tag gets and once again, the costs are often more than a small business owner can afford in order to be able to keep their head afloat.
GVO – This site has a very unique approach as they don’t sell themselves as a Web hosting company, but more like a partner in your business. They have several different tiers of membership and the top tier that encompasses every tool you will ever need for marketing and creating a customer base is less than $50 a month. The more we look at this site, the better they look in regards to both performance and price.
Getting a new business off of the ground is hard enough, starting out with the wrong hosting plan and lack of tools just makes it worse. Instead of fighting through the chaos that most Web sites struggle with, give a company like GVO a quick look and you will soon realize that they are much more than a hosting company, they are a true partner that wants their clients to succeed just as much as the owner themselves.
A hosting service should be one of the first things a new home business owner considers when they are developing a website. If you want to be as successful as Randy, check out GVO and watch what they can do for you.
