There is no denying it, it is now the coldest time of the year. Even sitting inside with the heating on, you can feel the nip in the air.

Cold winters and blustery storms leave me cold, literally! I’m at my best with the sun on my back. I know some think differently, but that’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

There’s nothing I can do about the weather unfortunately, all I can do is give you some advice on how to stay warm and save money at the same time.

If you like nothing better than to snuggle up next to a fireplace, I would advise getting a blower. This will distribute the heat more evenly and it will reach out further into the room.

There are always cold spots in a room that is being lit by a fire, but a blower makes sure these are eliminated. Wherever you are you will benefit from the warmth, so the heating will not be needed.

You need never get into a cold bed again if you get yourself a heated blanket. Run very cheaply by electricity these are fantastic for warming your bed.

They can be left on all night, but a lot to have them turned down or off completely as once they are warm they stay warm under the covers. A great sleep is guaranteed either way.

The last one for today is incredibly simple; putting blinds up at your skylight. These are notorious for letting in drafts and a blind goes a long way to stopping them.

All these tips will save you money as well as keeping you warm. So try one and beat the winter blues.
