Starting a successful online marketing campaign depends on the tools at your disposal. So what will you need? To start, you’ll need: an auto-responder; a sales or squeeze page; an in-demand product related to your niche; a basic understanding of your niche audience; and a proven means of reaching them. Now, to putting all these together.
1) Building your list – the first thing you’ll need is an auto responder in order to build a relationship with your own targeted list of potential customers; as the old saying goes “the money is in the list” so this is very important to say the least. The key is actually getting them to like and trust you by offering them regular tips, friendly advice, free gifts and other valuable information to help them achieve their own personal goals. This is much better than buying a less-targeted, un-responsive and over exhausted list of leads.
2) Your Sales Page – this needs to be a high converting page that clearly shows your visitors the benefits they will receive if they enter their details. Either hide the rest of your site, where your products or offer is located, until they enter their details and become a subscriber to your list and/or then market to them through your emails. Offering a valuable gift to begin with, that is a related report or product is a good idea to entice visitors.
3) Your product – promoting the benefits of your in-demand product should be the number one priority with an ever growing suspicious and sceptical audience, you therefore need to state how it will help them achieve what they want to. This can again be reinforced through your auto-responder with a series of follow up emails to constantly remind your prospects, use elements of the copy from your products sales pages, or from the product itself. It’s commonly known that consumers, on average, need to see an offer over 7 times before they buy.
4) Understanding – by using various demographic indicator sites and keyword tools, you can build an understanding of your market (i.e. the sites they are visiting, what they are searching for and also what other products they are interested in). This will enable you to build larger product inventories, tailor your messages and add value; consisting of even more stuff that they would normally be interested in buying.
5) Get Traffic – there are a number of ways to do this but your demographic research into your markets typical age, interests and issues will help make your mind up which to use. Whether that be social networking article marketing, traffic exchanges or PPC using your research to guide you will help to make sure it’s a method that your target audience can be found with and that they would respond to.
Building the foundations of a successful online marketing campaign and business is easily done by following the methods above. But, by continuing to only offer truly high value, exceptional products to your prospects and through building relationship with them by giving them opportunities to get to know you; you will gain respect, trust and be seen as an authority figure within your niche. Thus, creating a more receptive and targeted list in relation to your offers. However, be careful not to abuse your list, constantly “selling on it”, sharing it, or even worse, selling it. This will cause members to opt out and the equity that you worked so hard to build will be lost forever. Remember this proven online marketing methodology once again “the money is in the list”.
